# Motor speed calculator

The motor speed calculator calculates the synchronous speed of an AC induction motor from the supply frequency and the number of poles.

Notes:

The motor speed calculator calculates the synchronous motor speed from the following parameters:

• f -Supply frequency (Hz). For example, 50 Hz or 60 Hz.
• p -Number of poles. For example, 2 or 4. This can be found on the nameplate of the motor..

The motor speed in rpm is calculated as
