# Motor torque calculator

## Parameters

**Motor rating (P):**Motor rated power in kW from the nameplate or datasheet.**Motor speed (N):**Motor rated speed in RPM from the nameplate or datasheet. Not the synchronous speed.

## How to calculate motor torque?

The motor rated torque is calculated with the following equation:

\(T=\displaystyle \frac{60}{2\pi}\cdot \displaystyle \frac {P \cdot 1000}{N}\)

Where,

**T**is the motor rated torque in N.m.**P**is the motor rated power in kW.**N**is the motor rated speed in RPM. Not the synchronous speed.
